Hi guys! Its me Nithin Nath. I’m one of the CBZians of the group. Just had this spontaneous idea to put up a website to complement with our group. So that’s it. This website was born. About myself, well I’m a mechanical engineer by profession, a motorcycle enthusiast by passion and an automobile freak by birth. I did my BTech from College of Engineering, Trivandrum, God's Own Country Kerala.
I have a love for bikes and am into designing a few myself. Though
not successful enough to convince any company about my talents, I’ve
designed and crafted around 30 odd models of bikes, cars and trucks. A
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R being the latest addition. That's my bike... and
that's me sitting on it.
I have a passion for cricket and am a big fan of Rahul Dravid. Not a movie buff, but still enjoy watching Akshay Kumar, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams and Tom Cruise.
I used to go around in my Kinetic Honda
until I got myself a dazzling new silver CBZ in July 2000. That was a
bargain I thought even though happened to be the costliest bike then. Its
been trouble free for past 4 years. I’ve clocked just 30000 odd kms though.
But the bike as good as new as far as performance is concerned. I’ve done a
bit of mods to it. Before all that, the stock bike had good low and mid
torque but did a top speed of 105kmph. Then I went for a twin exhaust custom
made from a scrap CBZ silencer. The unit let me down on pickup but was
brilliant high up. It gave it good balance and a glorious exhaust note. Top
speed was 115kmph as per Speedo. The city mileage came down by 6kmpl to
38kmpl but in 70-90kmph range it gave 55kmpl!
Unfortunately the muffler got damaged and had to remove it and go back to original setup. Now I’ve changed the rear tyre to Michelin M45 4”. Its great at handling and good pickup. But top speed is now a mere 105kmph. Apart from these, I’ve got a set of new horns and a halogen head lamp. The bike has saved me thrice from accidents, thanks to the crash guard! The major expenses incurred other than the silencer mods, were replacement of clutch plates and crank main bearings. The battery had a claimed life of 2 years but its still pretty fine on my bike even after close to 4 years! The handle bar was changed to that of the Enfield Fury. But now it’s that f the Machismo. Though I still feel bad not having ridden an RD350 yet. Had a hardly 1 hour luck on an old friend’s Yamaha 250cc bike. Just did a 70kmph top. That’s all. He didn’t let me do anything. That day I felt it was wonderful. But after I came home, the CBZ felt quicker! All in all it’s still a peppy bike id love to ride every day. It’s a pride being astride the CBZ. Ya, I’m a proud CBZ owner.
